The “Nicholson” or “English” workbench is credited to Peter Nicholson’s “Mechanic’s Companion” written in 1831. This classic design is made of simple construction, featuring a characteristic deep front apron drilled to enable the use of pegs and to support work vertically.
We found this old workbench in Amish country, Pennsylvania, and believe it would make a unique kitchen island or retail store fixture due to its large size!
