In the mid-19th century, cast iron became a popular material used in commercial buildings. Window frames were produced by pouring liquid iron into a prefabricated mold to create multiple pieces of the same size.⠀

Pictured is a London factory that was built in c.1850 just days before it was torn down completely. Thankfully, the building was carefully stripped of its architectural salvage. ⠀
Two window frames are available, the listing is for one piece
Iron frame has lovely patina due to age and wear
All glass pane has been removed
Each window frame has hinged opening at center of panel
Approximately 60” W x 72” H x 2” D
Approximately 26” W x 24” L x 4” D hinged opening
